Towards the end of every academic year, the students will have the photo sessions....The pre- school students r not left out... So here is Nur Hatice during her photo session...

Her friends she had spent her time with everyday at school...

the Arı sınıflar in memory...

It is not certain yet whether all of them will continue their first grade at the same school..if they will.. they may not be in the same classroom...

But i do know one thing though...from the bottom of my heart as a mom, i thank all her friends, her teachers, the cleaners and everyone involved in making my daughter's pre school life experience a memorable one.. Hakkınız helal olsun..

School uniform

This year, the *inspire* shops r selling the school costumes for all the coskun schools.

Though he doesnt need it, i still bought him the school track suit. i didnt have the heart not to buy him anything...he was looking...kesian pulak..

The whole lot...except for the skirts..they r a bit too long.. the shop will cut them shorter..

When a message came from the school saying that the school uniform will be selling at a shop called inspire....i was worried. True, baddin will enter the pre school. He wont be needing a school uniform.But hatice, on the other hand, will be entering the first grade.She definitely needs to wear the school uniform.

It was that day when i asked Meşe's help to bring me to the shop.. being the eldest among her siblings, she definitely knows what to buy etc etc etc... and her agreement to help was a godsend... this was my first time ever buying the school uniform for my kid... without her, i would have been clueless!!

And yes.. she did bring us to inspire... practically took over the choosing n fitting of the school uniform..etc..etc.. i was just a watcher... watching... learning so that next year i will be able to buy the uniform for my kids myself...

Safa still has his last year's uniform.. lucky meşe, she needed not buy many things for safa...

Meşe said that parents go bankrupt in September...After paying for the school costumes... i can actually see for myself that she is 100% right...and there will still be the buying of the textbooks etc..etc...

i think i will start saving for next year's school expenses from this year!

Wild berries picking

Yup... u have come to the right place..... the wild black berries of Sapanca...

Just now i asked her in turkish......

*my daughter.. why do u like to eat the wild berries?*

and her answer was...

*because they r so sweet anne*

then i asked her another question....

*why do u love the jungle trekking (büyük tür as she likes to say)*

her short answer was very precise...

*becoz it is fun and very healthy*...

her answers made me smile wide...

I was born, live and grew up in Malaysia... a country with nature. in my high school days and my university days...i can tell u countless experiences i had camping....jungle trekking... climbing hills...absailing..kayakking..etc..etc...things made possible with the existence of the rain forest of Malaysia..

She on the other hand... was born n is living in istanbul. ... a place where trees r rare... apartments r built on every possible land....and being a part of the Zaim family also means that she is living under the strict protection of the family... what i did in my younger days was and is and will be a *no no* for her...

Her dad has a bit of my sense of adventure too... considering that he was born in istanbul as well... so u can imagine my happiness when we discovered the jungle trekking (one hour and a half)... up up and down finally to the family's summer house...what is special of course is the fact though young as they r, hatice and her brother baddin do have the enrgy to go thru the trekking at every possible opportunity...

But the best thing of all was and is and will always be ...

as we all walk... along the way... u can explore the nature... u get to see tortoise near the road somewhere.. n when in season.. THE WİLD BLACK BERRİES!!...hatice's favourite!

İndeed they r really sweet... if u buy the berries from the market, they dont taste as sweet as this... this year due to the hot weather, the berries became ripe a bit early....and if truth is to be told... hatice has had far than enough of the berries this year.....afiyet olsun kızıma benim :0)

one type of berries..this is the most typical... all the berries stuck together like thi.... we normally pick the black coloured one... the red coloured one will be sour n the green one will ne unedible of course :0)

another type.... the taste is different even.. this type is hard to locate... but worth picking if u see it..
