Ceza...

On the first day post bayram holiday, she came home from school... took off her shoes and said...

*Anne... i got punished by my english teacher*...

It turned put that she accidently left her file containing her english homework inside the bus service..thus, the punishment... she had to write lines as a result...

Well.. my dear kızım... next time take responsibilities of your own things!! I doubt that she wont forget her things in the school service again (DNA inheritence from her anne n baba hehehehe) but..well... :0)

How is she in school? well.. she is as always a very responsible student in her class... i suppose active too in answering the questions... But of ourse.. naturally that doesnt imply that in exams, she is among the best students... they have a test once in two weeks... well... for the first test.. she got 24 wrongs... the next test saw an improvement on her side where she got 15 wrongs... She was so sad naturally especially when her competitor...elanur only got 5 wrongs.... she cried even ...

My response was this...i asked her...
1. did you read the questions carefully? she said yes.
2. did you try your very best to answer all the questions right? again..another yes.

I told her that if she did what she could.. and 15 wrongs were what she could get... i would be happy for her...

For now.. occasionally.. her dad is still around to help out with her math and turkish homework... next week... he will be late from work (past the kids' bed time) for at least 3 nights a week since the lectures will start..i suppose after this.. i will have to start calling either her dad on the phone or her aunties or cousins to ask for the answers ... it is a good thing too that we have a lot of numbers to call... zaimlar... yakında..biz size biraz rahatsız edeceğiz :0)

When asked about her school life...
1. Do u like school? Answer: No
2. Do you like homework? Answer; I hate it
3. Do you like your teachers? Answer; I love them!!

So i suppose...learning does depend a lot on the teachers... if the teachers make the kids love them.. they will make learning more bearable and perhaps enjoyable for kids like hatice who dislikes shool and most importantly homework... hatice knows that school is essential for her to achieve her dreams... she wants to be either a doctor or a teacher...so for now she will endure school whether she likes it or now...

What do i see in her? I think she will be excellent as a language teacher... i think she will excell in human resource department where she will interact with people.. I think her language and her social skills are excellent... though i do forsee her having difficulties in math and pure sciences... she is sooooooooo like me... but we are not giving up on her...her baba and i even talked of hiring a special tutor for these subjects whenever the needs arise...After all.. what we want is for our kids to excell as best as they can... they may not be totally excellent but we want them to give all their might in whatever things they endevour...
